Vietnam - Hue

In another country and it's time to get on some more boats, this time for a trip down the Perfume River in Hue, Vietnam.....

The first stop was at a traditional martial arts demonstration - no-one was quite sure what to expect - but one thing is for sure - dont mess with these guys!

Then it was off to the Thien Mu Pagoda....

Next stop was the tomb of Emperor Minh Mang

Pete had finally made his way out of Tibet, so there was a celebratory drink (or two) at the DMZ bar....Odyssey Blues all round....

Kirsten manages to get behind the bar.....

Taylor writing the Odyssey Overland 2010 poem on the ceiling......

Next day it was off to the Citadel - the old Imperial City....which is currently undergoing a program of restoration....

Laos - Phu Hin Bun National Park

After spending some time in towns and cities it was time to head out to the countryside again - this time to the middle of a National Park.
First of all there was an hour long ride on a longtail boat -(one of the groups least favourite forms of transport)....

Our accommodation by the riverside...

The main reason to visit the park was to visit the caves, so it was back into the boats for another trip up the river.....

On the way back we had the most important boat - the beer delivery boat...

After another night in our accommodation it was time to leave and start to make our way to the border with Vietnam.
A quick stop at That Ing Hang

Even monks have to mow the lawn........
