Kazakhstan - The Diversion.....

Due to problems near the border between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan we had to divert through Kazakhstan, but first we had to get a visa for that country. Our passports spent a long time locked up in the Kazakh embassy (so long that our Uzbek visas nearly ran out) but eventually we were on our way. The problem was that we did not have time to clear the border completely so we ended up trapped in the no-mans land between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan - so what did we do....we set up camp of course!  Cook group prepared dinner while tents were put up and chairs set out - not the most scenic campsite and the facilities were basic (e.g. the bathroom was behind the wheel of a truck)
Finally we made it through and had an 'exciting' drive through the countryside. 'Exciting' because there was a small altercation with a red car driven by Mr. Crazy who kept pulling in front of us and braking hard. He soon stopped that when several people piled out of the truck with their most agressive faces on......
We had one night camping before another border crossing....
